T. M. Krishna, a renowned Carnatic musician and activist, is known for his powerful voice, adherence to tradition, and use of music for social reform. He received the prestigious Sangita Kalanidhi award in 2024. The award, presented by the Music Academy in Chennai, has also been bestowed upon other notable artists. Additionally, the Nritya Kalanidhi Award was given to Mohiniyattam exponent Neena Prasad.
